Fear grips my heart each time I thought of reaching out to my extended family members particularly in IMO state, since the incident graduated to bloodshed. Although death is inevitable but the pain from a premeditated murder of a beloved person stungs more.
Sincerely, I wish I could censor the recent negative reports; killing, shooting and torture, that have been happening in the East which spread across the Media and Internet platforms; lifeless bodies filled the streets of eastern states.
My phone memory is almost full because of numerous gory violently killed human bodies; chopped off hands, cut off legs, scattered in gutters, mainroad, while some battled for survival as seen in the video being rushed to the hospital.
I can only imagine how badly the streets in East have been stained with indigines' blood gruesomely murdered.
Their blood gushed expressly, the indigens are helpless while their self acclaimed leader is living without fear in another man's land while his people in their home towns are being slaughtered in multiple; Loyalty for real?
This insurgency is getting out of hand and I pray it doesn't escalate to civil war; lifes and properties are lost daily, I think there should be a call to order, asking which way, 'Biafra President'.
This pandemonium didn't just started, here's the the genesis. It was initially termed as, 'the Orlu Crisis' which was a military conflict that broke out in the city of Orlu, Nigeria, when the Nigerian Army moved to crush the paramilitary wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
The conflict escalated after the ESN managed to repulse the initial push by the Nigerian Army, but IPOB ended the initial crisis by unilaterally withdrawing the ESN from Orlu.
After a few weeks of quiet, Nigeria launched a military offensive in the area to destroy the ESN. On 19 February, IPOB declared that as of the day before, a state of war existed between Nigeria and Biafra.
Three weeks later, another separatist group declared the formation of a Biafran interim government which was subsequently endorsed by IPOB.
Analyzing this ugly situation; the Indigenous people of Biafra need to take a break from their agitation, owning to the fact that two wrongs don't make a right. If by reason of past occurrence they felt cheated and still cheated, marginalized, under-developed, there are divers ways to skin a cat; better ways to get positive result.
The Biafrains should even imagine the fact that their leader is dishing out orders to them from far away country, if this was how the likes of Nelson Mandela and other freedom fighters had fought from afar would they have achieved better result?
Majority of people killed are Youth, and their states' properties destroyed yet the leader refused to call this insurrection to a halt, remember he is very safe where ever he is, but the mourners (mothers, fathers, and grandparents) are left to bury their children and grandchildren in agony.
It is no more News that, the country's best hands in the Military have been deployed to the Eastern States, while Boko Haram, Bandit and Fulani Heards men are ignored while they perpetrate their vices; kill, destroy and kidnap citizens.
Though I haven't witnessed any war, but I have been told stories about it, it is so Frightening and Traumatic to witness; War is better told than witnessed.
Here's my submission, we all can pray to God to heal our land, and help our leaders with the right mindset to restructure Nigeria. The heart of man is wicked who can ascertain it? When the Biafraians get the independence they desire, will their leader take them to the promise land he promised or will there will be another War within them?
To conclude, 'You don't fight with mouth, the best way to win a battle is 'with the brain'. You cant defeat unprepared and you can't win a battle just by blowing trumpet while you surrounded by your enemies, you must be prepared to win, for you to become a winner....
